SEA encapsulates artistic and arts-based participatory approaches in multiple contexts., which can range from emancipation to well-being, organization development, and social innovations. In different contexts, SEA practices serve various functions and have multiple aims. Frasz and Sidford (2017) from the Helicon collaborative have argued, all SEA practices embrace the idea of being a change agent. The central idea is influencing and instigating social change, through art or artistic processes, in a particular community or, more broadly, in society.
